Underneath the desert sky so bright,
A meerkat stands in morning light.
With eyes half-closed, it tilts its head,
And basks in warmth with nothing to dread.
The golden sun, a gentle hand,
Brushes across the sandy land.
Its fur is warmed by every ray,
The perfect start to a desert day.
It stretches tall, a slender line,
Its shadow cast, sleek and fine.
Paws relaxed on sunlit sand,
A peaceful life that’s simply grand.
Forgetting all its digging plans,
The meerkat takes its desert tan.
With every beam, it softly dreams,
Of endless sun and sunny schemes.
In the heat, it feels so free,
Beneath the blue, an endless sea.
A sun-kissed creature, wild and true,
Embracing life in every hue.
So let the sun shine bright and clear,
On this meerkat, without a fear.
For in this moment, warm and tan,
It’s the happiest creature in all the land.
