First built in 1923, these incredible little cars won 24 major motor races in the four years from 1926 to 1929. From 1924 to 1926 exactly 1,045 wins were achieved by Bugatti cars, and in 1927 alone another 806 wins.
Known as the Type 35 B or 35 C with either 2.3 or 2.0 litre engine respectively, this car was capable of particular speeds well in excess of 100 m.p.h., and the fastest speed recorded in 1928 was 122.5 m.p.h.
The acceleration and road holding of the car were outstanding, and a 2.3 litre supercharged car covered a standing start mile at over 95 m.p.h. in 1930. As befitted the son of a brilliant artist, Ettore Bugatti always achieved beautiful lines. The view is widely held that the Type35 Bugatti is perhaps the most characteristic m representation of the true racing car ever conceived.
